Borescope Camera
Bore scope is a rigid (industrial endoscope) or flexible (fibrescope, flexible borescope) tube with an eyepiece on one end, an objective lens on the other linked together by a relay optical system in between. Borescopes are used for inspection work, where the area to be inspected is inaccessible by other means. The borescope camera allows you to record and share what you see inside components with a camera. The borescope camera works by attaching a precision engineered coupler to the scope, to transmit through a wireless link to either a TV or computer. The borescope camera is perfect for teaching or recording repairs for warranty claims.
The most important design features are light weight; ability to use with either TV or computer; robust construction, made specifically for commercial use; high resolution Color CMOS chip; long range wireless capability of more than 160 feet. Of course, it is essential to have a long-lasting battery, with at least 2 hours of operation, preferably Lithium Ion. Hawkeye is a company producing borescope cameras. The model of interest here is the Hawkeye Hardy Borescope Digital Camera Kit. It can capture clear images up to 3" deep! Features a Sony Mavica digital camera attached to the Hawkeye Hardy 12" Borescope. Images are written directly to a floppy disk, in a format that is viewable on most computers and/or formatted for e-mail- taking documentation, problem-solving and reporting to new levels. The whole technology is easy to use, simply frame the shot using the camera's built-in LCD screen. The camera has 10x optical zoom lens, the borescope has sideways 90 degree mirror view and the Hawkeye Nova light will allow you to see even the tiniest images. You can re-shoot pictures again as needed without additional film or processing charges. Practicality was the main word when when Gradient Lens designed the adaption of the Sony camera to accept a borescope. The price of this product is around $2,500. UXR is another company engaged in the development of borescope equipment. Their Standard Color Video Rigid Borescope kits are complete and include: 5.5mm Achromatic Lens Rigid Borescope, 100 Watt Light Source with AC Adapter, 420 Line Color Video Camera, 13" color monitor. Everest VIT, Flanders, NJ, has produced the world's smallest fully articulated video borescope with measurement capability. The model is called XL PRO, designed to fit deep inside minute and virtually inaccessible spaces where inspections are crucial. This tool is appropriate for the inspection of any small space including those found in power and processing plants and automotive engines.
