Borescopes are optical devices used for conducting inspection of places that are otherwise hard to access. Borescope inspections are applied for examining things like automotive cylinders, fuel injectors, hydraulic manifold bodies, weaponry, aviation. If you thing about, actually nothing has changed much in this mature technology, compared to its early stages. Optics are Optics. Borescopes don't have digital gadgets on them and are not sophisticated as a camera. And since everyone uses the same type of optics- the glass, the fibers, the lens, etc., there is no way that the technology can make a huge turn here. Borescopes are simple tools, Nothing newer today than several years ago. Therefore, a borescope inspection should be made at the best prices and value. The tricky thing about making a borescope inspection is to choose the right type of borescope for the given task. There are two types – rigid and flexible. Rigid borescopes (bore scope) are like fiberscopes, but aren't flexible and a produce an image of higher quality, which makes them more suitable for tasks such as inspecting automotive cylinders, fuel injectors, hydraulic manifold bodies. The advantage of the flexible borescop is that it lets you see inside spaces that a rigid borescope can't penetrate. Bottom line is that unless the rigidity is not a problem, it’s always better to buy a rigid one. Borescope inspections result in remoing the costly down time or even save unnecessary disassembly with this state of the art technology. It can access the gears and bearing to examine their condition without removing or disassembling the unit. With a borescope program, you can have an on-site inspection done for your gearbox. The equipment that is used to perform this is similar to the equipment used in the medical field. All it needs is access as small as 3/4" to enter the unit. With the articulating camera head, a borescope can look at the components of the bearing, checking for wear, pitting or thrust load. This inspection can finnd clogged lube spray nozzles, no clearance bearings, etc. It can also be used to check oil troughs for contamination of metal, brass, dirt, etc. Part of the borescope inspection process is to take photos from prior inspections and compares them to the most recent photos to supervise whether there was any wear on the gears and bearings. Findings have saved customers thousands dollars in repairs and down time. Of course, inspections are not limited to gear boxes. They can inspect and measure turbine blades with our stereo tip measuring lens. This feature can also be used to monitor wear on the fins. A borescope inspection can been called to find lost objects inside equipment that could enter the equipment causing thousands of dollars in damage. Technicians must be highly qualified to perform on-site inspections and advise on the spot any repairs or precautions that need to be performed. Other applications or the borescope inspection include: Aviation—Business, Commercial, Military; Small and Large Gas Turbine inspection; Air Frame Inspection; Petrochemical Production; Boiler tubes; Heat Exchangerse; Rotating Equipment; Gas and Steam Turbines; Pressure Vessels; High Purity Piping/Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology; Weld quality Verification; Semi Conduction/High Tech Manufacturing; Gas Panel Inspection; Tool Maintenance and Trouble Shooting; HVAC Inspection; Manufacturing; Gas Turbine; Generators; Pumps; Investment Castings; Automotive; Airplanes; More; Power Generation—Natural Gas, Nuclear, Coal, Hydro; Gas Turbine Inspection; Tube Inspections; Piping; Diesel/Methane Engine Inspection.
